Firefox 3.0

Today at 1:00 PM EST Firefox 3 was released! This day I have been waiting twiddling my thumbs in anticipation. To celebrate this much anticipated release, the Firefox team decided to launch a “Download Day.” They are working to set a new record for most downloaded item in a 24 hour period, and we can help!

If you browse to www.firefox.com you may be greeted by an Http error. Mozilla, the creators behind the Firefox project, may have gotten in a little over their heads. As Firefox 3 was due today it seems many thousands of users are, just like me, trying to access the home page. And, with so much traffic, it seems like their web servers are completely overloaded and have simply stopped working. I will keep trying through out the day, as I’m sure thousands of others are as well, and hopefully I can add my download to the growing number to beat this record.
