Bread - Guitar Man

Who draws the crowd and plays so loud,
Baby its the guitar man.
Whos gonna steal the show, you know
Baby its the guitar man,

He can make you love, he can make you cry
He will bring you down, then hell get you high
Somethin keeps him goin, miles and miles a day
To find another place to play.

Night after night who treats you right,
Baby its the guitar man
Whos on the radio, you go listen
To the guitar man

Then he comes to town, and you see his face,
And you think you might like to take his place
Somethin keeps him driftin miles and miles away
Searchin for the songs to play.

Then you listen to the music and you like to sing along,
You want to get the meaning out of each and evry song
Then you find yourself a message and some words to call your own
And take them home.

He can make you love, he can get you high
He will bring you down, then hell make you cry
Somethin keeps him movin, but no one seems to know
What it is that makes him go.

Then the lights begin to flicker and the sound is getting dim
The voice begins to falter and the crowds are getting thin
But he never seems to notice hes just got to find
Another place to play,
Anyway got to play, anyway got to play.

Quote of the day

“It is the unseen and the spiritual in people that determines the outward and the actual.”
-Oswald Chambers

The state of confusion

2 more gigs…… then I’m free. It all worked out very well and that I am truly thankful for. I give these folks an A+ for professionalism, they truly are the real deal.

Quote of the day

The creation of something new is not accomplished by the intellect but by the play instinct acting from inner necessity. The creative mind plays with the objects it loves.
~Carl Jung

Retired and Having Fun!!

Working people frequently ask retired people what they do to make their days interesting. Well, for example, the other day I went downtown and into a shop. I was only there for about 5 minutes,
and when I came out, there was a cop writing out a parking ticket. I said to him, ‘Come on, man, how about giving a retired person a break’?He ignored me and continued writing the ticket.I called him a ‘Nazi.’He glared at me and wrote another ticket for having worn tires. So I called him a ‘doughnut eating Ges tapo.’He finished the
second ticket and put it on the windshield with the first. Then he wrote a third ticket. This went on for about 20 minutes. The more I abused him the more tickets he wrote.Personally, I didn’ t care. I came downtown on the bus, and the car that he was putting the tickets on had a bumper sticker that said, ‘McCain 2008.’I try to have a little fun each day now that I’m retired. It’s important to my health.

Morning Tea

I was drinking my normal blend of Chai tea this morning, the brand I am currently drinking has a fortune attached to the string. It said: Old age needs wisdom and Grace, so I decided I’m going to be stupid and clumsy and stay young!

Apple 3Q 2008

Once again Apple INC. is a winner. The third quarter Apple posted revenue of $7.46 billion and net quarterly profit of $1.07 billion. One thing Apple finally did in which they haven’t done in the past was publicly announce it’s PC Market Share of 19.50 %. That’s correct 1 in 5 computers in the world today are an apple PC. Further more that would put the projected U.S. market where the OS X based computers are much more popular at something in the area of 2 out of every 5 PC’s. AT this rate in 5 quarters Apple could have 1/2 the home desktop market in the U.S.

Steve Jobs also said at the beginning of the Q3 Report “we’re busy finishing several more wonderful new products to launch in the coming months.” Let’s hope so, for this one dimensional Mac Geek needs something fun to blog about :)

Tesla - Getting Better

All that rain outside my window, it goes on and on, I know
It’s gettin’ better every day
Soon the sun will shine through my window, when it’s gonna come
No I really couldn’t say
Oh but I know, it’s gettin’ better every day

Oh, it’s gettin’ better now, every day, yeah yeah

I’m a hard workin’ man, doin’ all that I can, tryin’ to make ends meet
Just a-makin’ my way through this jungle today, it’s gettin’ the best of me

But I know it’s gettin’ better, and a change is gonna come my way
Yes I know it’s gettin’ better, better every day, oho yeah

Been a-changin’ the scene, if you know what I mean
Good things are comin’ my way
Now I’m livin’ my life, and I’m doin’ it right, sun shinin’ every day

I can feel it gettin’ better, and a change is gonna come my way
Yes I feel it gettin’ better, better every day

Now it’s only gettin’ better, and a change has finally come my way
Yes it’s only so much better, oh, gettin’ better every day, yeah
Oh yeah yeah yeah

Gettin’ better, oh every day, I feel it
Gettin’ better, it’s gettin’ better, It’s gettin’ better
It’s gettin’ better

The Cherokee tale of Two Wolves

One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside all people. He said, “My son, the battle is between two “wolves” inside us all.

One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.

The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith.”

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather: “Which wolf wins?”

The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed.”
